Illustrated with a double-page map of the roads, forts and gates of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. A folding view of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and a folding plate of the town hall of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. 17 additional double-page plates showing various castles and towns described in the book. Concluded with 4 folding plates with coats of arms. Total: 24 engraved plates.
8vo. Contemporary half leather over speckled marbled boards.

The plates are mainly engraved by Gaspar Bouttats and Henricus Cause after J. van Croes. J. van Croes was a Dutch draughtsman of town views, castles etc.

Good. Spine ends and corners rubbed and a little worn. Boards lightly scuffed. A small nick in the margin of page 51 (closed with acid-free archival tape). A small tear in the inner margin of the final plate with coat of arms (not affecting image area).
