BACKGROUND INFORMATION
After a painting by Jordaens. Likely published in Antwerp in the early-to-mid 17th century. Privilege granted but issuer unknown.

Biography engraver: Schelte Adamsz. Bolswert (c.1586-1659) was a prominent Dutch engraver, active in Antwerp. Known for his reproductive engravings after Rubens and Jordaens.
Biography artist: Jacob Jordaens (1593-1678) was a major Flemish Baroque painter and tapestry designer, closely associated with Rubens. He often depicted mythological and allegorical subjects.
