A saying with latin origin: ‘A person eating does not notice.’ (the chest behind him robbed).



‘Ventre affamé n’a pas d’oreilles.’

(One with hunger has no ears .)

Condition: Good, given age. Large margins. Overall light soiling and some staining. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Crayon style lithograph on wove paper. With hand colouring.
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 25 x 33 cm. The image size is ca. 17 x 23 cm.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Pierre Langlumé after Jacques Arago in Paris, c. 1825. Pierre Langlume (born 1790) was a French 19th c. lithographer active in Paris ca. 1822-1840. He exposed at the salon in 1822 and 1824. Jacques Etienne Vic. Arago (1790-1855).
