Antique print, titled: ‘Voeux a la Madone.’ – Large plate of a mother and her daughter in front of an altar to the Virgin Mary. The mother holds a rosary while the with sickness tricken girl holds a small wreath with in the middle a heart. On the ground are two bound candlesticks. Printed by C. Motte.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Charles Motte’ after ‘Leon Noel after Jean-Victor Schnetz’. Charles Motte (1785-1836) was one of the early lithographers in Paris, where he started in 1817. He published a vast amount of lithographs, including early work by eugene Delacroix. Louis Boulanger (1807-1867). Leon Noel (1807-1884) was a French lithographer, painter and draughtsman. Jean-Victor Schnetz (1787-1870) was a French painter.

Condition: Good, given age. Several wormholes (also in the image), closed using contemporary paper backed with acid free archival tape. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
