Biography engraver: Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch engraver renowned for his finely executed portrait engravings. He collaborated with historian Jan Wagenaar and produced numerous portraits of notable Dutch figures, admired for their clarity and detailed line work.
Biography artist: Gerbrand van den Eeckhout (1621-1674) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and draughtsman, a pupil of Rembrandt. He produced portraits, biblical scenes, and historical compositions, and his works served as models for later engravings.
