BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816) was a Dutch engraver and illustrator from Amsterdam. He produced portraits, historical scenes and book illustrations, and was one of the leading Dutch printmakers of the late 18th century.

Biography artist: Pieter Oets (1720-1790) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman known for portraiture. His works served as models for engravers such as Reinier Vinkeles, who translated his painted likenesses into prints.
