Antique print, titled: ”Pan et Syrinx.” – This plate shows Pan picking grapes and Syrinx grabbing Pan by the shoulder. With two putti and three panthers. Intermediate draughtsman Antoine Borel. From: “Galerie du Palais Royal”. Border and text cropped.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Charles Nicolas Varin’ after ‘Maarten de Vos’. Charles Nicolas Varin (1745-1805) was a French engraver. Maarten de Vos (1532-1603) was an Antwerp painter and draughtsman of the late sixteenth century. His travels to Italy made him adopt the Mannerist style. His designs were very popular and were followed widely.

Condition: Good, given age. Print attached to carrier sheet. Faintly soiled and with some faint stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
