Antique print, titled: ‘George de Iste.’ – Portrait of king George the First of England. Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Jacob Houbraken’ after ‘Godfrey Kneller’. Jacob Houbraken (Dordrecht 1698 – Amsterdam 1780). Houbraken was a Dutch artist, engraver and art collector. Jacob spend most his time designing and engraving portraits, such as the one offered here. Sir Godfrey Kneller, 1st Baronet (born Gottfried Kniller. 1646-1723) was the leading portrait painter in England during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, and was court painter to English and British monarchs from Charles II to George I.

Condition: Fair, given age. Ample margins, paper a bit weak, two small tears in the left margin. A crease in the lower right edge (not affecting image). Margins foxed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
