Antique print, titled: ‘De Ster.’ – Dutch landscape with windmill De Ster in the foreground, and another windmill (De Lelie) in the background. Sailing ships in the left background. This scene is situated on the edge of the Kralingse Plas in Kralingen, Rotterdam. Source unknown, to be determined. Signed and titled in pencil below the image.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Andreas Schotel’ after own design. Andreas Schotel (1896-1984) was a Dutch graphic artist who made etchings. Numerous of his naturalist etchings documented the work of farmers and workers in Noord-Brabant. He started his artistic career after his service in the First World War, by entering the Academy of Rotterdam where he was a student of Antoon Derkzen van Angeren, Alexander Henri Robert van Maasdijk and Herman Mees. Magdalene Rademaker was a student of Schotel.

Condition: Very good, given age. Left and right margin edges browned. Faint ghosting on the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
