Ref: Hollstein 141.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Antonie Wierix’ after ‘Maerten de Vos’. Anthony (or Anton II) Wierix (1555-1604) was a Flemish engraver from the famous and prolific Wierix family of engravers, active in Antwerp. Marten de Vos (1532-1603) was an Antwerp painter and draughtsman of the late sixteenth century. His travels to Italy made him adopt the Mannerist style.
Condition: Very good, given age. Large margins, some tears in the margins. Remains of pencil writing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
