Antique print, titled: ‘La Vie Champetre’, (‘Country Life’) It shows a family of shepherds resting near a cliff edge and ruined building. Their flock consists of sheep, a cow and a pony. Published by Lepicie and L. Surugue in Paris, 1741.. Artists and Engravers: Made by Elizabeth Lepicie after F. Boucher. Renee Marie Elisabeth Lepicie (French. 1714-1773). Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, who was a proponent of the Rococo style. Boucher is known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories, and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated decorative artist of the 18th century.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Margins cropped to the image edge. Remargined with vellin type paper. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
