Subject: Antique print, titled: ‘Christ driving the moneychangers from the Temple’, Christ uses a switch to drive the moneychangers from the temple. On the left a man trips over a low table. In the background cattle and pigeons are being driven outside.
Condition: Fair, given age. Right edge with insect (?) damage, remargined using contemporary paper. Left margin stained. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by Cornelis Cort after an anonymous artist. Cornelis Cort (1533-1578) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver. He was known as Cornelio Flammingo while he was in Italy (from 1565 until his death). He started an art academy in Rome, where Carracci was among his students.
