No. 8 from a series based on a facade design by Polidoro da Caravaggio.
Biography engraver: Possibly by Johann Theodor de Bry (1528-1598), known for detailed engravings often inspired by Biblical themes.
Biography artist: Polidoro Caldara da Caravaggio (ca. 1499-1543) was an Italian painter known for his facade/mural decorations in Rome. A pupil of Raphael, he developed a dynamic and dramatic style used in numerous mythological and religious compositions, often engraved by contemporaries and followers.
