Biography engraver: Nicolaas Verkolje (1673?1746) was a Dutch painter and mezzotint engraver known for his elegant portraits and historical scenes. He was part of the Verkolje family of artists and active in Amsterdam.
Biography artist: Jean-Marc Nattier (1685?1766) was a French portrait painter best known for his representations of the court of Louis XV and imaginative allegorical portraits. He was also an accomplished draftsman.
