Made by ‘Charles Jacque’ after own design. Charles-Emile Jacque (1813-1894) was a very well respected French painter, sculptor and engraver / etcher of mostly landscapes and animals from Paris. He was trained as cartographic engraver. Later he developed a very free style in etching. He is considered one of the more interesting 19th. c. French artists.
Condition: Very good, given age. Light soiling and ghosting from previous matting. Some remains of paper tape on rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
