Medium: Etching on hand-laid (verge) paper. Watermark: Amsterdam coat of arms with beam below.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

No. 4 from a series of 11 landscapes, dated after 1647.

Biography engraver: Frederik Bloemaert (ca. 1614-1690) was a Dutch printmaker and draftsman, son of Abraham Bloemaert.

Biography artist: Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651) was a Dutch painter and printmaker, influential in the Haarlem Mannerist and Baroque movements.
