Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Charles George Lewis (1808-1880)’ after ‘Edwin Henry Landseer (1802-1873)’. Charles George Lewis (1808-1880) was an English engraver, who was trained in drawing and engraving by his father. Many of his best known works are after Edwin Landseer. Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802-1873) was and English painter, well known for his paintings of dogs and horses. However, his best known works are these statues: the lions on Trafalgar Square.
Condition: Very good, given age. Print has been framed and matted and has some light ghosting. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
