Biography artist: Raphael (1483-1520) was an Italian High Renaissance painter and architect, born in Urbino and active in Florence and Rome. Celebrated for his clarity of composition and idealized beauty, he is considered one of the greatest artists of Western art history. Charles Clement Bervic (1756-1822) was a French engraver and printmaker from Paris, renowned for his highly refined burin technique. He trained within the academic tradition and became one of the leading reproductive engravers of his time, producing works after major Old Master paintings.
