Plate: ‘Le Poete Roquebrune rompt la Ceinture de sa Culotte en voulant monter a cheval a la place de Ragotin.’ (The poet Roquebrune breaks the belt of his shorts, while wanting to climb at a horse at the Ragotin square.) Original Master Print, published ca. 1732-1740. This plate is part of a series: ‘Cycle du Roman comique au chateau de Sans-Souci.’ , based on Paul Scarron: ‘Le Roman comique.’ (1651 et 1657).
