Antique print, titled: ”D. Philippus Rovenius.” – Portrait of Philippus Rovenius. Philippus Rovenius, actually Philips van Rouveen (1573-1651) was apostolic vicar of the Dutch Mission in Roman Catholic tradition and Archbishop of Utrecht. Source unknown, to be determined. Ref: Muller, p. 218, 4374c.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Francois van Bleyswijck’ after an anonymous artist. Francois van Bleyswijck (1671-1746) was an engraver from Leiden.

Condition: Good, given age. Small stains in print and margin. Offsetting where the print was folded on itself. Print attached to carrier sheet. Folds and creases in print. Small tear in left paper edge, extending 4 cm into image, with old restoration. Missing top corners. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
