Zoutman was active as admiral in the sea battle on the Doggersbank in 1781. Published by Conradi van der Plaats, 1788. Ref: V.S. 6291.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Reinier Vinkeles’ after ‘Pieter Frederik de la Croix’. Reinier Vinkeles (Amsterdam. 1741-1816), was an 18th-century painter and engraver from the Northern Netherlands, who was the later teacher of several talented artists. He studied for some ten years with Jan Punt and joined the Amsterdam Stadstekenacademie Pieter Frederik de la Croix (1709-1782) originated from France. He later worked in The Hague and Amsterdam as portrait artist.

Condition: Good, given age. Thread margins. A crease in the lower left corner. A small stain in the top left corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
