BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Jacob Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch engraver who was famous for his finely detailed and accurate portraits. He produced many prints of Dutch historical figures and artists, often collaborating with other artists.
Biography artist: Aert Schouman (1710-1792) was a Dutch painter, glass engraver, and art dealer known for his paintings of birds and landscapes, as well as historical and portrait engravings.
