Biography engraver: Carl Wilhelm Mieling (1815-1903) was a Dutch lithographer, printmaker and publisher; Koninklijke Nederlandse Steendrukkerij (The Hague).
Biography artist: Louis Henri Wilhelmus Merckes de Stuers (1830-1869) was a Dutch painter and naval officer. He was active in the Dutch East Indies and was recognized for his detailed drawings and paintings of the region. He served in the Royal Netherlands Navy and was a recipient of multiple military and civilian honors.
