BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Homann, Johann Baptist. Neuer Atlas bestehend in auserlesenen und allerneuesten Land-charten. Nuremberg, 1707.

Biography engraver: Johann Baptist Homann (1664-1724) was a German cartographer and publisher known for his detailed maps. Appointed Imperial Geographer in 1715, he founded a publishing house in Nuremberg that produced atlases and world maps.
