A deer fleeing through a stream in a forested area, chased by two hunting dogs and two riders. A third hunter is already present on the bank to which the deer runs.

Biography engraver: Thomas Heawood (c.1810-c.1870) was a British engraver. Jacob Isaacksz van Ruysdael (c.1629 – 1682) was a Dutch goldne age landscape painter, and is considered the most famous of four Haarlem family members who painted.
