Made by an anonymous engraver after George Morland.

Medium: vernis-mou etching on wove paper.

Sheet size: 49 x 36.5 cm (19.29 x 14.37 inch). Image size: 42 x 32 cm. (16.54 x 12.6 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Light wrinkle left side, hardly visible. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This original antique print was published ca. 1790.

Biography artist: George Morland (London 26 June 1763 ? 29 October 1804 Brighton) was an English painter of animals and rustic scenes. Morland’s work in painting is characterised by the simple subjects he painted. He depicted the life he knew from his own experience. Morland worked closely with William and James Ward, and later married their sister Anne.
