Antique print, titled: ”Chateau d” Amstenraedt, Province de Limbourg.” – This print shows Kasteel Amstenrade (Castle Amstenrade) near the Dutch city Schinnen in Limburg. This scarse plate originates from: ‘Voyage Pittoresque dans le Royaume des Pays-Bas.’, by Mr. De Cloet, published in Bruxelles, 1825.Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Jean Baptiste Madou’ after an anonymous artist. This plate drawn on stone by Madou, printed by Jobard. Jean Baptiste Madou (1796-1877) originated from Brussels. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of lithography in Belgium. Ambroise Jobard (active around 1830) was a Belgian lithographer, active in Brussels and Amsterdam.
Condition: Very good, given age. A few stains in the margins. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
