Biography engraver: Thomas Burke (1749-1815) was an Irish engraver known for his use of the stipple technique. He was active in London and worked closely with leading artists and publishers of his time, producing finely executed prints that were especially popular in the late 18th century.

Biography artist: Angelica Kauffmann (1741-1807) was a Swiss-born Neoclassical painter who gained international fame for her historical and allegorical works. A founding member of the Royal Academy in London, Kauffmann was one of the most respected female artists of the 18th century.
