Biography engraver: Cornelis Bloemaert II (1603-1692), was a Dutch Golden Age engraver, son of Abraham Bloemaert, trained under Gerard van Honthorst and Crispijn van de Passe. Spent most of his life in Rome, celebrated for reproductive engravings of Italian masters and Jesuit publications. Member of the Bentvueghels (“Winter”).
Biography artist: Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651), was a Dutch painter and printmaker, a leading figure in Utrecht and teacher of many prominent artists. Known for religious, mythological, and genre works in a refined yet realistic style.
