Original print, untitled. It shows: a river landscape, with a farm on the left, and a village in the rear. A man carrying a basket on his back descends steps to the water in which rowing boats are moored. Dated 1744 in the plate. Separately published master print. Published ca. 1750. These can both be prints made by old masters (artists) or prints made by others (artists, engravers, etchers) after old masters.Artists and Engravers: Etcher: Christian Ludwig von Hagedorn (1717-1780) was a German Art Critic / Theorist, collector and in addition amateur etcher and Saxen Diplomat. He is known to have etched between 1743-1745 and 1764-1766.
Condition: Very good. Ample margins with minimal foxing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
