Made by Philips Galle after own design.

Medium: Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 11 x 17 cm (4.33 x 6.69 inch). Image size: 9 x 15.3 cm. (3.54 x 6.02 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Remains of paper tape on rear from attachment. Light soiling. Stain at bottom. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Reference: NH 316-160 (Galle).

Biography engraver: Philip (or Philips) Galle (1537-1612) was a Dutch publisher, best known for publishing old master prints, which he also produced as designer and engraver. He is especially known for his reproductive engravings of paintings.
