Biography engraver: Johann Jakob Haid (1704?1767), German engraver and mezzotint specialist active in Augsburg. Known for portraits of scholars, clergy, and nobility, as well as reproductive engravings after contemporary painters. A leading German master of mezzotint.
Biography artist: Wolfgang Dietrich Majer (1698?1762), German painter active in T?bingen. Specialized in portraits of academics, clergy, and officials. His works were often reproduced in prints by Augsburg engravers such as Haid.
