BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Hendrik de Laat (1900-1980) was a Dutch painter, draftsman, and printmaker, particularly known for his etchings of Dutch towns, churches, and landscapes. He was active in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and North Brabant, capturing the changing urban fabric and historic architecture of the Netherlands. His work was influenced by the Hague School and he focused on preserving historic buildings through art.
