(‘Observe her eyes – the flatt’ring tales believ’d’). It shows three girls in a wood, one lying back on rocks at left with flower in hand and looking to front with a smile, her companion leaning against her, the third in right foreground holds a letter and looks towards her dreamily.

Medium: Handcoloured stipple engraving and etching, plate coloured (a la poupee) on laid (verge) paper.

Condition: very good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
