Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper. on paper.

Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 25.5 x 17.7 cm. The image size is ca. 23.5 x 15.9 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 10 x 7 inch. The image size is ca. 9.3 x 6.3 inch.

Antique print, untitled. Two emaciated horses in a field with a village in background Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after P. Potter. Paulus Potter (1625-1654) was a Dutch painter who specialised in animals within landscapes. He was born in Enkhuizen, but moved to Leiden and Amsterdam later.

Condition: Good, given age. Two tears from the right margin half way into the image. Image a little soiled (dampstain in the top and bottom of the image, a dark line from the bottom into the middle (from tear in copper plate). Complete sheet attached to thin carrier sheet to consolidate tears. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
