Made by Jean Ouvrier after Schenau.

Medium: engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 40 x 54 cm (15.75 x 21.26 inch). Image size: 33 x 43 cm. (12.99 x 16.93 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Minor paper loss top margin, partly remargined. A few minor crinkles. Some small spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This original antique print was published in Paris, ca. 1750. Artists and Engravers: This plate engraved by J. Ouvrier after J. E. Schenau.

Biography engraver: Jean Ouvrier (1725 – 1754) was a French engraver.

Biography artist: Johann Eleazar Zeissig, called Schenau (1737-1806) was born in Gross-Schenau. He studied for several years in Paris and later worked in Dresden.
