Original antique master print : ‘Les Defauts Corriges par l’Affront’. (The defaults corrected by the insult). An 18th century interior scene with parents and three children. The two boys on the right lift up the skirt of the young girl on the left, she’s crying.
Made by Jean Ouvrier after Schenau.
Medium: engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 40 x 54 cm (15.75 x 21.26 inch). Image size: 33 x 43 cm. (12.99 x 16.93 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Minor paper loss top margin, partly remargined. A few minor crinkles. Some small spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: Johann Eleazar Zeissig, called Schenau (1737-1806) was born in Gross-Schenau. He studied for several years in Paris and later worked in Dresden.
