BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published by Jean Moyreau, Paris. Based on a painting from the collection of Louis, Duke of Orleans.

Biography engraver: Jean Moyreau (1690-1762), French engraver and royal publisher, known for producing prints after Dutch masters such as Wouwerman and Watteau.

Biography artist: Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668), Dutch Golden Age painter celebrated for dynamic horse and hunting scenes, with great influence across Europe in the 18th century.
