Pierre Aveline (1656-1722) was a French engraver, print-publisher and print-seller. He was born in Paris as the head of a family of artists. His main works are reproductions of other artists’ works. His sons Pierre-Alexandre and Antoine were both artists. Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, who was a proponent of the Rococo style. Boucher is known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories, and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated decorative artist of the 18th century.
Condition: Very good, given age. Two holes in the top margin (from binding). Edges of the margins browned. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
