– Fine engraved portrait of Antoine Favre (1557-1624), the Savoyard jurist and legal scholar, shown bust-length within an oval frame. He wears a flat cap and richly detailed garment, reflecting his learned status. The portrait is enclosed by a decorative border with laurel branches, symbolizing intellectual achievement. Below, a cartouche contains a Latin inscription praising his work. This print was made by Jacob de Fornazeris as an illustration for Favre’s influential legal work Codex Fabrianus (Paris, 1606).
