– Fine engraved portrait of François Lotin de Charny (1623-1684), shown half-length and facing slightly toward the viewer. He wears the formal robes and collar associated with his judicial office. The portrait is placed within a large oval frame surrounded by finely engraved horizontal background lines. François Lotin de Charny served as President des Enquetes at the Parlement of Paris, one of the highest judicial bodies of the French kingdom during the seventeenth century.
