Biography engraver: Jean-Baptiste Masse (1687-1767) was a French engraver and designer, noted for his portraits and reproductions after works by prominent French artists of the 17th and 18th centuries. He held the title “Dessinateur du Cabinet du Roi.”.
Biography artist: Antoine Coypel (1661-1722) was Premier Painter to the King (Louis XV) and Director of the Acad?mie Royale. Known for ceiling paintings, portraits, and mythological works, he brought dramatic theatricality to French Baroque painting.
