Description
Plate : ‘A Widow – Une Veuve’. A woman in heavy, dark clothes, with a large bonnet, holding her gloves in her left hand, her right hand to her chin, looking down at a little dog who scampers at her feet, walking under trees along a path which curves round to the right beyond, beside a river with willows on the far bank.

Medium: stipple engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 31 x 42.5 cm (12.2 x 16.73 inch). Image size: 28.5 x 38 cm. (11.22 x 14.96 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Browned around the image from matting. Paper erosion top right corner. A few small tears in the edges, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
