– Originally published by Frederik de Wit, Amsterdam, c. 1688-1689. This map details the Arnhem and Veluwe region in Gelderland, Netherlands. The map is oriented to the west and includes decorative cartouches and allegorical elements. The plates were later acquired by Covens & Mortier in 1710.

Medium: Copper engraving with original hand coloring on hand laid (verge) paper.

Sheet size: 61.5 x 51 cm (24.21 x 20.08 inch). Image size: 56.5 x 46.5 cm. (22.24 x 18.31 inch).

Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Frederik de Wit (1630-1706) was a Dutch cartographer and publisher known for his highly detailed and decorative maps. Based in Amsterdam, he produced atlases and wall maps that were widely collected in the 17th century.
