Description
This double print shows a view of the plans of the redoubts of St. Andries and the Voorn or Fortress Nassau, located on the Meuse and Waal rivers. The forts were captured by the state army under prince Maurice, May 1600. Printed on both sides with text in Dutch.
Made by an anonymous engraver after Blaeu.
Medium: Engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 63 x 52.5 cm (24.8 x 20.67 inch). Image size: 27 x 21.5 cm. (10.63 x 8.46 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Brownish on edges. Fold as published. Minor creases in lower margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
