Description
This print shows the battle in the region of Cappadocia (Turkey) where women (Amazones) fought side by side with men. The Amazones were called manslaughters. According to the Greek mythology the Amazones were the founders of the cities Efese and Smyrna. Bookiluustration of an unidentified German book.

Condition: good, given age. Sheet trimmed. Brownish. Tears in left and lower margin been restored. Underlining of some words like Amazone and Manschl?gerin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
