Landscape scenes in Indonesia. Signed by the artist. Pasted onto black carriers with title descriptions:

• Langs de Tim boe loen Sumatra.
• Langs de Grooten Weg. Java.
• Waterval in de Preanger.

Size: c. 14.8 x 13.3 cm on a carrier 31.5 x 23.5 cm.

Condition: Very good; Carriers damaged. please study scans carefully.

Geert Folkertsma (1847-1912) was a Dutch / Frisian photographer, artist and art teacher. He was in the Dutch East Indies / Batavia / Indonesia from 1875-1886. From 1894 he lived with his family in Utrecht on the Poortstraat. There he supposedly gave the first drawing lessons to the young Gerrit Rietveld (1888-1964), who lived on the same street.
