Biography engraver: John June (fl. 1740-1770) was an English engraver, known for his bold and detailed city views, maritime scenes, and book illustrations. He frequently collaborated with London publisher Robert Sayer and engraved views of cities, hunting scenes, and Lord Mayor’s Day processions. His notable works include “View of Cheapside on Lord Mayor’s Day” (1761) and “The Farm Yard.” He engraved both his own drawings and those of John Collett. His style is recognized for its strong lines and well-balanced compositions.
