BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The original gold enamel chain (c.1517) is held at the ‘Kaiserliche Schatzkammer Wien’ (The Imperial treasury in Vienna). Published annd printed by Antoine Dewasme (active c.1826-1851), in Brussels, c. 1850.

Biography engraver: Antoine Pletinckx (1797-1851) was a Belgian lithographer active in the early 19th century. Known for high-quality lithographic prints, often of historical or heraldic subjects.
