BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This print was published c. 1613. Also published in ‘Mercurii Gallobelgici’, 1612.

Biography engraver: Georg Keller (1568-1634), was a German engraver, etcher, draftsman and painter. He was a student of Philipp Uffenbach and Jost Amman. He exibited a loose style of engraving and engraved for de Bry, Feyerabend, Merian, Kieser and Meisner.

Biography artist: Frans Hogenberg (1535-1590) was a Flemish and German painter, engraver, and mapmaker.
