Description
‘Aankonst van de Schutterij van Leiden in Grave, 1622.’ Part of a series of 3 related prints: ‘Tocht van de Leidse Schutterij naar Grave, 1622.’, which also includes of the militia on the Mooker Heide and a view of the ships they sailed with. In 1622 the Leiden militia was ordered to move to Grave to protect the city while Stadhouder Maurits moved on to besiege Bergen op Zoom.

Engraved by Cornelis Johanneszn. Liefrinck II / Kornelis Liefring (1581-c.1662) was a landscape painter and engraver from Leiden. He was the son of the painter Hans Liefrinck (active 1567-1599).
